Our menu's are updated every month or two with a few dishes changing to match the seasons. We prepare most of the dishes ourselves using good quality ingredients and where possible we use local suppliers. The bread we use is baked at the The Court Patisserie in Bury St Edmunds, we buy some meat from Traymoor butchers near Great Dunmow & fish from Direct Seafoods in Colchester.
We love steak & have sourced beef from some of the best cattle producers in the UK & around the world to bring you steaks from grass fed breeds aged on the bone for a minimum of 30 days and the American Black Angus, which is fed on a grain diet for the last 130 days to produce an incredible flavour with wonderful marbling.
We chargrill our steaks in a charcoal oven called a Big Green Egg. The oven reaches temperatures up to 400 degrees centigrade quickly sealing the meat,
trapping in the juices &
flavours. The result is beautifully charred meat on the outside but succulent, juicy and flavoursome on the inside.
In addition to the menus below we feature weekly specials on our blackboards & are very happy to cater for any dietary requirements. Please just ask.
The A la carte menu is available Wed to Saturday and on Sundays we serve at least 2 roast joints & other pub classics.
Our vegetarian & vegan menu offers various choices and like our oither menus is regualrly updated.
The Lunch menu is available Wednesday to Saturday, along with the Sandwich menu.
